SWITCH ON POWERING TRANSFORMATION AWARD

The team made up of students and professors from the Architecture career of the USB obtained the second prize in the International Competition Switch On Powering Transformation University  Competition World 2014, Barcelona, ​​with the Waternet project La Yaguara Resilience Park. The competition involved 48 teams from 14 countries, made up of 313 students and 128 professors from 30 universities. The USB team was composed of students Yumisbet González, Isabel Piscitelli, César Mendoza and Carol Linares, together with professors María Mercedes Hernández, Bernardo Dorbessan and Elisa Silva, guest professor.

The work started from the experience of the Vertical Workshop of Architectural Design on informal city and risk management proposed by Elisa Silva.

The jury considered that this was the project that “worked with more depth the problem of water, treating it at all scales and throughout its extension of implementation, reuse and management. Interested in the integration of agriculture in the proposal, as well as going from the scale of the territory to the scale of the building”.
