HOUSE M56

Located in one of the most wooded areas of Caracas, the small garden of House M56 presents an “L” distribution where each side generates a different condition, both in visuals and in its use, generating leisure spaces on one side and rest spaces on the other, but both directly connected to the landscape of the place.
We sought to achieve through plant species, beyond a design, to eliminate the border effect generated by the walls of the plot, obtaining a variety of important views from different angles, and directly connecting the architecture with the landscape. Among the most important aspects to consider was the fact that most of the surface was grass, so as not to fill the space with many species and to obtain different paths and shapes.
From the main hall you can see a group of low trees, whose background is a beautiful limestone wall. The most important view from the caney is towards the back of the garden where a Guayabita is planted, and other medium-sized species are grouped at the back of the space. In the interior part of the caney, different calatheas and ferns are used to give more greenery to the edge of the garden. In order to unify the different points of view and sensations during the tour and the stay in the spaces, a low grass is used that runs throughout the garden and climbs over the walls. The entire proposal achieves greater presence thanks to the large trees in the area, recreating the green exterior of the landscape inside the garden.
